Dye Carpets
How to Spot & Complete carpet
dye
Wool and nylon can only be dyed, there are other carpet
fibers but Synthetic fibers can be difficult to dye,
because they are substances that have been man-mad in a
laboratory like polyester for example. You can test the
fiber by using a test kit
TEST KIT INFO or bleach will work by applying a drop
of bleach to the carpet fiber. First remove the carpet
fiber from the carpet and drop in an oz of bleach. If it
changes color then you can dye the carpet. Carpet must
be thoroughly clean first. Remove all red or colored
dyes. You can use expensive chemicals to remove the dye
or mix some bleach in water and apply gently to the
spot. Rinse carpet for best results with an acid rinse
like

the color you need. I have several colors to choose

Carpet
Dyes from Kleenpro Mix dye of your choice. For spot
dye, add 1/3 tablespoon of color dye in quart jug
sprayer of water. (Mix 1-quart of red, and 1-quart of
blue and 1-quart of yellow). By having 3 colors you can
mix over 10,000 color variations. Do not set. Just spray
a little of each color until the color changes to the
correct color you want. May have to spray one color, and
then spray the other color. Spot dying does require some
skill but easy to figure it out. When spot dying do not
use dye set. The entire carpet will require a carpet
extractor and a sprayer. Mix dye as directed in water.
Before you mix the Dye set, spay in the toilet then
spray in the carpet closet to make sure the carpet dye
is what you want. Once you decide spray evenly entire
carpet do 150 sq.ft at time or one room. Then extract.
If this is the color you want then spray again lightly
with
Dye Set after you mix the color. You can add a
tablespoon to the dye, it’s very concentrated. Once set
you cannot remove. Some dyers will not Dye set. After
you apply the dye use a carpet extractor to remove
residue. That is the secret to dyeing carpet and spot
dying... Kleenpro 800-510-2436
